Quality Discount Patios, Inc. offers the AMERIMAX brand of Alumawood Patio Covers, the industry's best available aluminum patio covers.  We offer the best price around with our lattice, solid and combination Alumawood covers.  Wherever possible, we will attach the patio cover to the house wall to give it the stability of the house and we bolt the supporting posts to your concrete patio.  Freestanding covers do not have the advantage of the stability of the house supporting them, so they require the posts be anchored in large concrete footings.  Freestanding and smaller covers are priced higher. Generally, the larger the cover, the lower the price per square foot.  Quality Discount Patios, Inc. accepts Master Card, Visa, Personal Checks, Cashier's Checks and Money Orders.

No concrete?  No problem!  All types of concrete available by referral. Our referral contractors also do pavers if you like and they can be used with our engineered steel anchors.  Concrete and paver prices are will be quoted by the referral contractor.

Installation and electrical hookup is generally always pulled off of your existing patio light switch unless otherwise clearly stated in writing by the contractor.  Prices for dedicated or always hot separately wired electrical are considerably higher than electrical off the porch light.  You will also want to purchase a "dusk to dawn" (photo eye adaptor) for any existing porch light and any additional lights you have us install.  Your ceiling fan and light kit will be powered off the pull chains when you have the patio light wall switch on.  Your lights with dusk to dawn sensors will come on at dusk when the switch is on.  All ceiling fans, light kits and other lights or fixtures must be provided by the homeowner and must be U.L. approved for outdoor use.  We will provide you with a recommendation of a couple of brands. Ceiling fans with remotes do not work well for this application.

Building permits are always required and are an additional fee.  You are welcome to take care of obtaining the permit yourself, but plan that it may take you several trips to the local city or county building department office.  We generally pull all of the permits for our projects. If you live in an unincorporated area, we will need to obtain the permit from the local county permit offices. Preparing the permit application and all of the accompanying documents is time consuming. We always wait until after you have given us a copy of your written HOA approval before pulling the permit. We provide a professional and legal permit service custom tailored for your project currently at no additional charge for our services. You pay only the cost of the permit.

Don't be fooled by the many contractors out there stating that the building permit is "optional" and you can get one if you want to.  BUILDING PERMITS ARE ALWAYS REQUIRED FOR ALUMAWOOD PATIOS COVERS AND ARE NEVER OPTIONAL.  Beware of any contractor that states it is optional.  They likely prefer to not have a permit and they will therefore not be held accountable for building your project to building codes and passing inspections.  Additionally, they may be operating without a valid contractor's license or city business license and they may likely have court ordered debt collections or outstanding warrants preventing them from obtaining  these licenses.  Every day, all over Southern California, we see evidence of people who allowed a contractor to build something for them without a permit. It is obvious when we see it is not to building and safety codes.  Don't risk wasting thousands of dollars you will spend on improving your home just to save a few hundred dollars on a building permit.  Sales taxes are applicable to materials.
